Sergio was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Health and Human Performance- Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2011.
 
Sergio then went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas in 2015.
 
In 2018 Sergio completed a rigorous 3 year Residency and Fellowship from the Manual Therapy Institute and is now a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy. He has experience in outpatient rehabilitation where he has treated a variety of complex diagnosis, home health for the geriatric population, and has practiced in Central Texas and South Texas before starting his own practice.
 
Sergio is also Certified in Dry Needling, is a Certified Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association and is a mentor for fellowship programs: IAR and Optim where he trains Physical therapists to be better clinicians in orthopedics and manual therapy. 
 
Sergio has done pro bono work with orthopedic surgeons and athletic trainers for high school athletes in the Central Texas area and enjoys community service work. Sergio is currently seeking to be Board Certified to become both an Orthopedic and Sports clinical specialist. Sergio is currently a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Texas Physical Therapy Association, and American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Therapy.
 
Aside from work, Sergio enjoys playing golf, watching movies, grilling, and spending time with his wife Rocio Martinez and his two boys Mateo and Mason
