Preparation Steps

- Clean and dry the skin thoroughly

- Apply a foam or hypoallergenic underwrap if necessary

- Position the joint in a neutral or functional position

- Consider contraindications or precautions (e.g., allergies, skin conditions)


General Principles

- Tape to provide support to the injured structure

- Avoid excessive tightness to prevent circulation loss

- Ensure even pressure distribution without wrinkles

- Check for any adverse reactions or discomfort


4. Detailed Taping Techniques


Ankle Taping

- Anchor strips above the ankle

- Stirrup strips from medial to lateral

- Heel lock strips to support the ankle

- Figure-eight pattern for added stability


Shoulder Taping

- Apply anchor strips around the shoulder

- Horizontal support strips across the upper arm

- Rotator cuff support strips as needed

- Optional deltoid taping for additional stability
