ISOMT FOUNDATION

Advanced Full Body Mobilization & Manipulation (Spine & Peripheral Extremities)- Regional Interdependence

Course Overview

Course Description :

Dr Parijat Kumar - Co-founder of ISOMT, will be the US Expert for this comprehensive online - 6 hours US- based Certification course along with Dr Rean Medes and Dr Prabhu Rajan. All US Based Specialists are here to teach, guide, demonstrate, and practice in detail the evidence behind Spine & Peripheral Joint Manipulation techniques.

An emphasis on gentle and effective technique will be given using a manual therapy inspired approach which utilizes the component technique in which a maximal number of levers is used for each manipulation thus increasing the accuracy, comfort, and success of each technique.
A brief review of indications, contraindications will be given.

Additionally, to compliment this lab-heavy course, clinical pearls and advanced clinical reasoning will be discussed for various manipulations to show their utility in light of regional interdependence.

Course Objectives:

1. Brief review of the history of manipulation and the various approaches and models.

2. Brief review of Indications and Contraindications for Manipulations

Includes a stringent screening process prior to cervical manipulation
3. 80-90% of lab time will include an exhaustive compilation of manipulations whereby each joint will be manipulated in as many different ways and positions as possible to afford the attending practitioners a variety of techniques for each body part so that the practitioner may be able to successful work around different body parts, patients unable to assume certain positions, etc etc.

3. Regions & Techniques

Cervical Spine- Upper- & middle
Thoracic Spine
Cervicothoracic Junction
Thoracolumbar Junction
Lumbar Spine
Pelvis/ Sacroiliac Joint
Hip Joint(femoro-acetabular)
Knee Joint
Tibio-fibular Joint
Talocrural Joint
Glenohumeral
Humeroulnar
Radial Head
4. Discussion of clinical pearls & clinical prediction rules.

5. Discussion of regional interdependence to incorporate multiple manipulations for individual specific diagnoses. i.e. patellofemoral pain syndrome, radiculopathy, IT band syndrome, lateral epicondylopathy, plantar fasciopathy, headache, and many more.

Inclusions - Full Course Video Recordings (1 month)
(For 1 full year to Annual Members & Lifetime access to Cohort Participants)
                     Certificate of Attendance
Detailed live interaction with US Experts

Chapters & Learning Objectives

Chapter 1: Introduction to Grades of Mobilization and HVLA Manipulation Technique
: 00:39 Hour

In this chapter, our US-Expert Dr. Parijat Kumar provides a comprehensive explanation and live demonstrations of joint mobilization and High-Velocity low amplitude (HVLA) manipulation techniques essential for restoring movement and reducing pain. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the grades of mobilization, their biomechanical effects, and how to apply them safely and effectively in clinical practice.

Dr.Parijat Kumar expertly breaks down HVLA techniques, explaining their mechanisms, indications, and benefits for both spinal and peripheral joints. Through detailed demonstrations, he emphasizes proper hand placement, force application, and patient safety, ensuring that learners develop precision and confidence in their practice.

Chapter 2: Contraindications for the Manipulation Technique
: 00:29 Hour

In this chapter, our US-Expert Dr. Parijat Kumar provides a detailed explanation of the contraindications for manipulation techniques, ensuring practitioners can identify cases where mobilization or HVLA manipulation should be avoided. Understanding these contraindications is crucial for preventing complications and ensuring patient safety.

Dr.Parijat Kumar discusses various medical conditions, structural abnormalities, and red flags that make manipulation unsafe, such as osteoporosis, spinal instability, fractures, and neurological disorders. He also highlights the importance of thorough patient assessment and clinical reasoning to determine when alternative treatments may be necessary.

Chapter 3: Indications and Adverse Effects of Manipulation Technique
: 00:27 Hour

In this chapter, our US-Expert Dr. Parijat Kumar explained the indications and potential adverse effects of manipulation techniques. Understanding when to use these techniques—and recognizing possible risks—is essential for safe and effective clinical practice.

Dr. Parijat Kumar discusses the specific conditions and patient presentations where mobilization and HVLA manipulation can be beneficial, including joint restrictions, musculoskeletal pain, and movement dysfunctions. He also explains the physiological and mechanical effects of manipulation, helping practitioners determine the most appropriate treatment approach.

Additionally, this chapter covers the potential adverse effects, ranging from mild post-treatment soreness to more serious complications. Dr. Kumar emphasizes risk assessment, patient communication, and safety measures to minimize negative outcomes and enhance treatment efficacy.

Chapter 4: Manipulation Techniques for the Cervical Spine
: 00:33 Hour

In this chapter, our US-Expert Dr. Parijat Kumar provides a comprehensive explanation and live demonstrations of specialized cervical spine manipulation techniques. Given the sensitivity and complexity of the cervical region, precise execution and thorough understanding are essential for safe and effective treatment.

Dr. Parijat Kumar explains the biomechanics of cervical manipulation, the indications and contraindications, and the clinical reasoning behind its application. Through step-by-step demonstrations, he highlights proper hand placement, force direction, and patient positioning, ensuring practitioners develop confidence in their technique while prioritizing patient safety.
